To cut in order to reassemble
Most of the clothes which were part of this collection were made with Japanese fabrics. “The small size of these rolls with gorgeous patterns is a constraint : it leads to the kind of cutting I have always been fond of, to a kind of work close to the creation of a painting.” A pattern stretched on the ground, symbolizing the dress made from the cutting, set the tone at the entrance of the exhibition.
